Different Time Zone Bill

My predictions for 2012.

Well, when I say 'predictions', I really know they're all true because I am able to jump between different time zones to check them out.
Here goes...
I'm predicting that the world could end in 2012 because, at present, I can only enter past time zones. This could simply be a malfunction or the Mayans could have got it right.
Several hundred years ago, the Ancient Mayans predicted the apocalypse on this very date. With their 5,125 year old calendar resetting itself to 0.0.0.0. on this date, many are preparing for the worst. However, how legit is the prophecy of the Mayans? Actually, even a freako like myself knows it is crap. Why would a calendar run out on such a silly number like 5,125?

Hi, fellow time zone skippers, I've just popped back to update my blog. I have lots of stories to tell, about earthquakes, revolutions, and other great events. I don't want to give too much away about the future though. Here's a few things (from NZ) to wet your appetite though...

New Zealand doesn't win the 2011 rugby world cup - the team claims it was poisoned, on the way to the final, by a South African woman working in a diner in Taihape. They were travelling by bus in an attempt to meet more locals and drum up support.

In 2013 ex PM Chris Carter comes out as bisexual. His partner is not impressed.

In 2027 cars are finally replaced by hovercraft. Richard (of RBB)"s mum evidently predicted that in the 1960s.

Well, there's a little glimpse into the future to keep you going. I'm off again. This time, into the past.

Defining Time Zones.

Actually, I don't know how this is done.
My time slipping tends to be intuitive. I think of a person, place, or event in history and sort of will myself there. Sometimes I just fling myself into the past, or the future.
I'm actually just back from amcient Rome. t was a smelly place really and I couldn't bring myself to use their communal yoilets, so I rushed back for a dump. It is harder to slip through time when you are desperate for a dump. It sort of mucks up your concentration.

I enjoy being a different time zone person.

I enjoyed being a different time zone person when I wrote the title to this post. Still do really. Though the funny thing about slipping between different time zones is that you are always offered new perspectives. I was reading a post on Akish The Philistine's post and it got me thinking about how art works differently to science and technology. It got me thinking about what sort of art the ancient Philistines had, so I slipped in for a look.
One of the first things I saw was this chair.

Not very practical really, sort of like sitting on other people. Then I discovered that the locals do in fact like sitting on each other. Fair enough, all cultures have their quirky little customs. Philistine pottery looks a bit like it originally came from the Greek Isles. Here are some examples.

I guess the question must be asked - why do Philistines get such a bad rap art wise?

Johann is German and writes plays.

He speaks German, so I'm having a difficult time understanding what he is saying. There are not internet translation sites available in 1828.
Maybe the Philistines just weren't very respectful of German culture? In the film Gladiator Germany was called Germania. Maybe the name Germania was some sort of in joke or, a German put down? Anyway, time for me to return to the future (your present) to write this.

How can anyone be sure that they are in the now? People have this weird idea that things around them are happening now. But what is now? It all depends on perspective. I should know because my 'now' is constantly changing. Hear is a poem from the future (your future) that explains it all...
